HOW YOU CAN HELP
Funding for the Wilson House come from varied sources. None is guaranteed and each year is different. We receive grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Polk County, the City of Lakeland General Fund, PM International Suppliers, Publix Super Market Charities, Walmart, Sams Club, NFocus and various private donors as well. Your financial support is greatly needed. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization as defined by the IRS. Any contribution made to us may qualify as a deduction on your federal tax return.
Financial support is not the only way you can help. Most of our residents come to us with nothing but the clothes on their back and maybe a single bag of meager belongings, about as much as they can carry. Beds are in constant need of replacement as are other furnishings. Appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, washers, dryers and other household items necessary to house and feed our residents are always welcome. Lawn maintenance equipment is also gratefully accepted. "One persons trash is another persons treasure" so please consider donating your used, working items before discarding them.
